Research questions and objectives:

The aim of the project is to explore the history of the institutionalization of Hungarian minority communities and to ensure the conditions for such research.

Content development of the documentation of Hungarian minority communities:
a) the online display of ethnic and denominational census statistics between 1850 and 2012 in the Carpathian Basin;
b) preparation of historical chronologies of Hungarian minority communities and their display on the Internet;
c) digitization of Hungarian periodicals across the border and making them available in a searchable format.

Research methods:

Census data are reported converted to today's administrative positions, if possible; pointers are made to the chronologies; we are constantly filling in the gaps of the already digitized minority Hungarian press abroad. The created contents are displayed on the institute's website and in Arcanum/ adt+ [https://adtplus.arcanum.hu/hu/accounts/login/?next=/hu/].
